It’s certainly tempting and natural to want to let your puppy curl up with you at night, but the truth is that your Beagle should never be allowed to sleep in your bed with you. That’s because the dog that is the alpha in the pack has his own sleeping space. If you let your Beagle sleep with you, then, he will not be inclined to view you as the alpha, a situation that can make your training process much more difficult.

The most important thing to remember when you’re trying to train Beagles is that they want to be sure of their role in your household so that they can fulfill their role in the “pack”. The first step in this process is to establish yourself as the alpha and then your puppy will be able to fall naturally into his role, deferring to your authority and aiming to please at all times.
